A Charitable Initiative
Morola for friends is an initiative under the banner of solidarity, organized by the Italian coffee brand Morola. Every year, we strive to help the families most in need, organizing different initiatives that can involve anyone who wants to participate.
In the first edition of Morola for friends, we prepared 200 complete meals to be given to the neediest families in the city of Martina Franca. With the help of a team of willing and operational people, we created a complete menu of first course, second course, side dish, fruit and dessert, preparing the dishes with seasonal ingredients and the gourmet touch of chef Tommaso Pioggia.
In collaboration with the CAV of Martina Franca, families were identified to whom the meals were destined, trying – at least for one day – to bring a little joy there where difficulties often prevail over smiles.
On the occasion of Christmas, however, we organized “The Suspended Panettone”: for every artisanal panettone purchased, Morola gave an identical one to a less fortunate family among all those who come to the Volunteer House every day to ask for basic necessities.
“The logic is that of the interdependence of the human being we are on a wheel: the fact that we are lucky and are on the upper side, does not exclude that tomorrow we might be on the lower side, so when you are a little bit higher it is right to help each other. This is the spirit in which Morola for friends was born. The goal is to continue on this path and give birth to many more such events.”
