The most apt description for the Intenso blend for Nespresso compatible capsules is undoubtedly “in medio virtus stat.” Tasting it one immediately grasps the perfect balance of tastes, aromas and flavors. Also extremely pleasant is the dense and delicate body.
It contains 5 origins, expertly balanced between 50% Robusta from INDONESIA and INDIA and 50% Arabica from BRAZIL, ETHIOPIA, COLOMBIA. All wet-processed and selected defect-free coffees were used. MOROLA intenso is a coffee suitable for any time of the day. Not bitter at all, it is extremely pleasant to drink as is, or at most with just the tip of a teaspoon of sugar. It has a typical caramel and waffle sweetness with vanilla flavors.
If you can, do not give up drinking it in a hot ceramic cup: it will feel like another coffee.
Differences between espresso and the Nespresso system
When talking about capsules and in particular the Nespresso system in defining the taste and characteristics in the cup, a distinction must be made. In fact, this is not an Espresso, but rather an espresso coffee drink. The main differences are the amount of product used (5.6 g instead of 7.5 g for espresso) and the different extraction system. In espresso, it is coffee powder obtained by multimodal grinding and compressed in a panel passed through water at 9 bars and about 89 degrees. In the Nespresso system, on the other hand, there is a high-pressure shaker of ground coffee with roller grinds and skimmer at the outlet.
This is not a limitation, but rather a convenient way to enjoy good coffee anywhere and without special attention from the person making it. Here are the advantages: the ease with which coffee is made, the very small size, and the low cost of the machine. Plus, the waiting time to warm up the machine is virtually nonexistent. Otherwise, it is not espresso.
We definitely need to improve the concept of respecting the Planet. For this, we at MOROLA have already identified fully compostable materials with which to produce the capsule shell and are actively collaborating with top research laboratories to refine the production process. In any case, there is no getting away from the choice of the origins that make up the blend, the processing methods, and whether the producer got a fair price for his work.
